Doctor Georgiana Tang
Georgiana is a highly regarded and sought after Gynaecologist and fertility specialist. She has practiced in the area of reproductive medicine for the past 15 years. Originally from Hong Kong, she was educated in Sydney, awarded Dux of Methodist Ladies College prior to commencing medicine and surgery at the University of New South Wales (UNSW). Coming with this background is fluency in Cantonese, Mandarin and English.
St George Hospital was where Georgiana undertook medical internship and junior medical training. She commenced her specialisation in Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Liverpool Hospital in the Sydney South West Area Health Service (SSWAHS), occupying the role of Senior Registrar at the completion of her training.
Following completion of her specialty training, she was the first female Staff Specialist in Obstetrics and Gynaecology appointed at Liverpool Hospital, being responsible for the training and supervision for medical students, overseas doctors and registrars undergoing their own specialization training in Obstetrics and Gynaecology.
Further sub-specialty training in Reproductive Medicine at City West IVF was pursued, and at the same time Georgiana completed a Masters in Reproductive Medicine at the University of Western Sydney (UWS). Subsequently she was appointed a conjoint lecturer at the UNSW and the UWS.
She has published in general Obstetric and Gynecology journals and has given numerous seminars to patients, nurses and GPs on fertility and gynecology. She has been an invited speaker at Fertility Conferences. Georgiana has a professional interest in the practice of evidence-based medicine, which she has adopted personally as well. For many years she has been an active member of the Quality Assurance and Policy and Procedure Committees in the SSWAHS.
Georgiana has been a co-founder for a number of IVF units. Wanting to focus more on her private patients and provide the type of services that makes fertility treatment more successful and more convenient. Her areas of clinical practice include treatment of fertility problems, general gynaecology and laparoscopic surgery. Georgiana sees her patients' well being and treatment successes as priority and her own success. Patients find the personal care and friendliness easy to relate to and often feel immediately comfortable and confident under her care.
Providing personalised fertility care of the highest quality is what Georgiana always strives for, and she co-founded the first City Fertility Clinic in Sydney in April 2014. City Fertility Centre provides comprehensive fertility care including Laser Assisting Hatching, Pre-implantation Genetic Diagnosis (CGH), locally recruited anonymous donor eggs and sperm, surrogacy, egg freezing, and offer specialised embryo culture media to improve success.
